Challenged to create an exhibition poster for Chuck Close that utilized only typography, I aimed to replicate the effect of his work with letter-forms in order to create imagery. Learning more about his process and as I inspected images of his work, I began overlapping multiple typefaces and colors to emphasize the layering that occurs in his paintings. I furthered this effect by zooming into a small portion of a much larger collage.
